Max Nagl finishes race in Mantova in second place

A strong performance at the final of the Italian championship

One week after his season debut in Ottobinao, Max Nagl made it to Mantova. On this top-track, the final of the Italian championship took place. The KTM Sarholz-protégé took a strong second place at difficult conditions.

In the past weeks, the rain created difficult conditions in Mantova. “The ground is very soft, whereby ruts occur. But I feel good and look forward to both races” Max explained before the start.

He started well already at the qualifying session and tied up with also at the first run. After a strong start, Max was trapped a little bit in the first corner. But continued to push forwards and reached the finish as fifth. “Even if this placement is already very good, I want more” the Upper Bavarian carried on.

The 31-year-old then continued heat two with a slightly modified setup. After a chaotic first lap, he joined as eighth and started the attack. Until the race end, he fought along the strong, international competition and took a considerable second place. „It was a great day. My bike made a consistent good job. The last weeks´work bears its fruits. After a long downturn, it is great being on the podium again at such a strong competition. I thank my team, partners, sponsors and fans for their support.” the German told in the evening.

Max will continue the next race in Hawkstone Park (England) this coming weekend already. One week later, the next race waits for him in France before he continues his trip to Argentina for the first World Championship race. „For me it is good, that two races follow before the start of the World Championship. Then I will stay in rhythm until season opening. A big thank you to my fans who made the start in Argentina possible” Max complemented proudly.
